Harris Diamond, McCann Worldgroup Chairman and CEO visited the Dubai offices of MCN on November 1, 2018.

Diamond addressed a packed gathering at the MCN Hive lobby at MCN’s HQ in Dubai. Speaking to hundreds of multi-agency MCN staff, he spoke about how the region’s agencies were performing rather well. Sharing the latest award winning work from across the globe with the audience, he shared his belief that great creative ideas were the core of the business and the marketing industry. He re-iterated McCann Worldgroup’s and IPG’s commitment to empowering staff with the best in technology and training across multiple disciplines.

One of the main points he touched on was inter-agency collaboration and how working together often produced better results and helped gain a better share of the client’s business spends. Clients today, he said, were coming back to a position where they were looking for integrated solutions from their agency partners – and it was up to agencies to work collaboratively to help clients find better holistic solutions for their overall marketing needs, and to make it easier for clients to reach out to their target audiences.

He also spoke about how McCann Worldgroup agencies were now working with global players like Google, Facebook, Snap and others, rather than be threatened by them. Harris Diamond, in answering questions, also addressed the importance of women’s roles in the industry and how the proverbial ‘glass ceiling’ was being crashed through across the globe.

Earlier in the day, Diamond visited individual offices of the 14 different Worldgroup and IPG offices at the MCN Hive building. He also met with the management team and leaders of the agencies. This was his second visit in the last two years – an indication of the importance of this region to the group.
