FP7/BEY gets two thumbs-up in Campaign magazine’s ‘The Work’ review in the Feb 24th issue for Byblos Bank spot. ‘FP7/BEY (Beirut) created this warm and memorable spot for Byblos Bank’s Personal Loans. It’s all about optimism, and a little help from friends…

The Byblos Bank tv spot was reviewed in Campaign magazine (February 24, 2013) in The Work section by two leading advertising personalities…

Azmi Yafi, chief operating office MENA of Cheil Worldwide said:
A nice little commercial and a moving story of boy-too-shy-to-meet-girl. Very well cast and executed. The story develops well, is beautifully directed in the tradition of Byblos Bank’s intimate style, which brings them closer to their customers. The Arabic word for ‘push/payment’ is clever in its double entendre and ties the story and the service very well. Well done Byblos Bank.

Tom Callaghan, deputy creative director, Agency 222, Qatar, said:
And finally we have a winner (in context of all the entries in the article) for Byblos Bank. Straightforwardly shot, rather touching, and with nicely understated performances, revealing all the uncertainties of that first love, and the shyness and uncertainty that we never really lose, in every sphere of life. There were perhaps rather too many vignettes, the point could have been achieved in a shorter space of time, but that’s just a quibble. The film benefits from not being one of those ‘here we are in a smart bank talking to a friendly banker’ spots, but the message still comes across. Great to see advertising that doesn’t underestimate the intelligence of its audience.
